Employers still experience difficulty with the P45 process, however, HMRC state that there is no immediate plans to remove the P45 and that it works well in many cases. However, a sizeable minority of employers and employees are not actioning new starter processes correctly.

The payments date on the FPS is still confusing with the aspect of Payment Date when it has been adjusted for the Christmas and other breaks. The concession for Christmas now becomes a new permanent feature. Confusion and challenge result in the assessment of Universal Credits.

Discussion also surrounded the options to Payroll benefits and expenses.
