Are you ready to receive and apply the new SL1 notices requesting student loan deductions commence.

2021 sees the first issuing of SL1 notices for the new Scottish Plan 4 student loans deductions.

The HMRC software developers support team (SDST) have indicated the following processing timetable of the revised SL1 notices which are applicable from 6th April 2021.

They indicate that ‘The SL1 run is scheduled from 02/03/2021 to 05/03/2021. The letters should be out and available to pick up from the 05/03/2021 (following a review of sample letters)’.

So notices will be landing on doorsteps and online from 5th March 2021 to be applied to payments made from 6th April 2021.

The new thresholds and deduction rates are:
