
What has been announced
As part of the government spring statement, Rishi Sunak has confirmed that there is a cut of fuel duty for petrol and diesel of 5 pence per litre across the whole of the UK.
The cut and freeze in fuel duty in 2022-23, is claimed to represent a £5 billion saving over the next 12-months worth around:
- £100 for the average car driver
- £200 for the average van driver
- £1,500 for the average haulier
When is it happening?
The cut takes effect from 6pm 23rd March 2022 and lasts for 12 months.
