PAYadvice.UK is pleased to be at the Payroll Services Summit in the centre of the City of London at the Banking Hall.
The first session was from Mathew Akrigg if the CIPP.

The first area covered was the changes from April 2024 to the payment of paternity leave and pay with the new option to have the two weeks split and taken within the first 52 weeks. For birth this change commences from 7th April 2024 and fir adoption the 6th April 2023.
The next area covered were the proposed expansions to Pension AE.

The government are to consult on the process of implementation.
Matthew touched the NMW regulation 57 change in relation to family exemptions. Also the prospect of a significant rate rise from April 2024.
He also covered the case of Car Allowance NI disregard in Willmott v Laing.

He then covered the PSNI v Agnew case relating to backdating of holiday claims. The Supreme Court rules the 3 month break as not effective.

He then covered proposed changes for HMRC data collection and a new requirement for hours worked. To remove band A through E and replace with an hours value or reason why they are not available!
There is a view that this would be disruptive and data not readily available to some payroll operations.
