The states of jersey issued information on changes applicable from 1st January 2024.
2024 Minimum Wage
The minimum wage from 1st January 2024 is increased to £11.64 an hour.
Harmonisation of trainee rates
The year 1 and year 2 trainee rates are harmonised with the minimum wage rate with effect from 1st January 2024 and will also be set at £11.64 an hour.
Offset rates for food and accommodation
If provided with food and accommodation as part of an employment contract for an employee on the minimum wage, employers are entitled to deduct a maximum of £169.98 a week.
If only providing accommodation, they are entitled to deduct a maximum of £127.54 a week.
2024 Minimum Earnings Thresholds for Class 1 contributions
The following threshold values change from 1st January 2024:
These are the amount that need to first be earned in a given at period to trigger Class 1 contributions.
