The HMRC Collection of Student Loan – consultation group meeting held on Tuesday 2nd September 2025, has shared and confirmed the student Plan Type 4 (Scotland) threshold applicable from 6th April 2026.
This information will be additional announced at a later point by the Scottish Parliament, they have confirmed that there is no restriction in sharing the information now.
The threshold is to rise to:
£33,795
The remaining Student Loan threshold values to yet be confirmed relate to Plan 2 and Postgraduate loans.
The postgraduate repayment threshold has remained frozen for a number of year, however, it is indicated that proposals have been made (yet to be confirmed) for a rise to this threshold also.
