Rachel Reeves – Chancellor of the Exchequer

Following the General Election result and the new formation of a Labour government, Rachel Jane Reeves has been appointed as Chancellor of the Exchequer on Friday 5th July 2024.

A member of the Labour Party, she is the first female chancellor in British history. She has been member of Parliament (MP) for Leeds West constituency from 2010 to 2024, and following boundary changes, has been MP for Leeds West and Pudsey since 2024.
