Electronic payment deadline falls on a weekend
In December 2024 the electronic payment deadline for PAYE to HMRC falls on Sunday 22nd December 2024.
For those using BACS for payments, the 21st and 22nd December are non-banking days where payments will not be paid.
Employers need to make sure their payment for the tax Month covering November (tax month 8) reaches HMRC on time. The funds must be cleared into HMRCs account by 20th December 2024, the exception is for those who are able to arrange a Faster Payment which clears on Sunday 22nd.
It is the employers responsibility to make sure their payments are made on time and if the payment is late, they may be charged a penalty.
It is suggested that employers check their bank or building society’s single transaction daily value limits and cut-off times well in advance of making the payment. Make sure you know when to initiate your payment, so it reaches HMRC on time.
