Some employers applying for the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme have experienced their grant application being denied due to arrears of tax liabilities.
HMRC have confirmed that the refusal is not correct and should not have happened.
HMRC officers have received updated guidance and advice to ensure the error is not repeated.
HMRC ask employers who have had their claim rejected to re-apply.
