The Living Wage week is coming – new rates to be announced Monday 9th November 2020

THE ONLY UK RATE BASED ON LIVING COSTS

The real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate that is voluntarily paid by over 6,500 UK businesses who believe their staff deserve a wage which meets everyday needs; the weekly shop, or a suprise trip to the dentist. Living Wage accredited employers voluntarily pay the real Living Wage – they also make sure all their employees in London receive the London Living Wage.

Over 240,000 employees have received a pay rise as a result of the Living Wage campaign which enjoys cross-party support. A broad range of employers are accredited with the Foundation including 2/5ths of the FTSE 100 and big household names including Nationwide, Google, Brewdog, Everton FC and Chelsea FC.

The new rates for 2020/21 will be announced on Monday 9th November 2020. Living Wage accredited employers are then required to implement the rise as soon as possible and within 6 months of the announcement. All employees should receive the new rate by 9th May 2021.
