Tax Avoidance promoters – the list keeps growing – now over 120+

The image of the umbrella is significant as many of the named tax avoidance and those issued with official stop notices are umbrella organisations. Some even operate across the public sector. The workers are not all high paid, and the resulting tax bill for tax not paid on what is earnings, wages, employment income, can be vast.

The current list as of 24th October 2024 produced by HMRC contains the named promoters below. Are you working for any of these and are they operating a tax avoidance scheme with you?

So is this all of them?

If you are involved in any of the tax avoidance schemes shown or recognise any of the promoters, enablers or suppliers, you should contact HMRC as soon as possible. You can also report a tax avoidance scheme to HMRC.

There are other schemes, promoters, enablers and suppliers that HMRC cannot publish information about at this time. This may be because:

  • HMRC is gathering information about the promoter, enabler, supplier or avoidance schemes being marketed
  • HMRC is considering representations from a promoter, enabler or supplier
  • the appeal period for not withdrawing a stop notice has not ended
  • HMRC is not aware of the tax avoidance scheme, promoter, enabler or supplier

How do some of them operate

They often operate in similar ways. The following gallery shows the highlights of what they attempt that doesn’t work (according to HMRC).

List of named tax avoidance schemes, promoters, enablers and suppliers

This is not a complete list of all tax avoidance schemes currently being marketed. Neither is it a complete list of all promoters, enablers and suppliers.

If a tax avoidance scheme is not shown in the list, this does not mean that the scheme works or is in any way approved by HMRC. HMRC does not approve tax avoidance schemes for use.
